Welcome to Worthless to Wonderful

Owl and I met later in life, but it was a chance encounter that would change both of our lives forever. Our first date was a double date with friends, and it was clear from the start that we shared a love of the great outdoors. We would spend hours exploring the wilderness, capturing our adventures in a journal that I decorated and personalised.
Our love of the outdoors continued to inspire us, and we started creating unique and personalised gifts for our friends and family who also shared our passion. Owl found sticks on our travels and crafted beautiful tramping sticks for everyone, each one personalised to the recipient. He even made a walking stick for a friend who had suffered a serious injury, bringing tears to his eyes.
I entered a competition at our local museum’s steampunk expedition and was awarded a couple of prizes, to my surprise. Meanwhile, Owl set up a forge in his shed and started making fun and creative items from horse shoes and other metals. We started selling our products at local markets and received great feedback from customers.
However, our lives took a turn two years ago on a trip to Southland, when Owl suffered an accident that left him unable to walk properly. Despite this, he refused to let it slow him down and went to his shed to create beautiful knives for his hunting buddies. They were a huge hit and helped him regain his confidence.
Today, we continue to create and explore, working from our respective rooms and sharing ideas over coffee. We’ve had our fair share of failures, but we’ve also experienced the thrill of seeing our creations come to life. Now, inspired by our love of travel and the beauty of our country, we’ve decided to launch a website to see if there’s interest in our personalised pieces of art. Who knows, our hobby could turn into something wonderful!
